Connect Corner Clinic is a clinical and forensic psychology firm. We use treatment approaches supported by scientific evidence, and we have psychologists with specialist training and experience.
When it comes to therapy, our psychologists work with you to help you clarify your goals and choose a therapy approach that feels right. Our clinicians track progress to make sure we are giving you the right support.
We also have practitioners with experience in assessment and consultation in the legal domain including violence and sexual violence offences, psychological trauma in the workplace, family court matters, victim services and child protection services. This includes child protection consultants who conduct assessments of applicants aspiring to become caregivers within the child protection system, as well as provide training to professionals in how to provide therapeutic crisis intervention in families.

Practitioner Qualifications
There are several terms for practitioners which refer to different training & qualifications.

Child Protection Consultant
A child protection consultant is a practitioner with specialist training and experience regarding the child protection system, including trauma-informed care and assessment, child protection legislation and family interview skills. Professional backgrounds for consultants include psychologists, social workers and case workers.

Psychologist
A psychologist is a qualified mental health professionals who can provide therapy and work in any area of psychology within their scope of practice. They have full registration from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). They're sometimes referred to as "general psychologists" or "registered psychologists".

Forensic Psychologist
Forensic psychologists are specially trained to support people who've had contact with the legal system. They complete additional accredited education and 3000 hours of supervised practice. This includes victims of crime, child protection and those who've been charged or convicted for crimes.

Clinical Psychologist
Clinical psychologists are specially trained to support people with a wide range of clinical issues. They complete additional accredited education and 3000 hours of supervised practice. This often includes health services, neurodivergent and differently-able clients, and private practice.
